About Us

Miqlat Ministry

Miqlat Ministry is a redeeming, social, and faith-based ministry, easily the most challenging and “outside-the-comfort zone” ministry under the umbrella of the Nagaland Baptist Church Council Women’s Department.  It means entering a dark, dangerous world where you are an outsider, where the level of commitment required is off the charts.

Miqlat Ministry is an outcome of a celebration of the Women in the 21st Century held in the year 2001 where the Naga Baptist Women gathered and felt the pressing need to address and tackle social evils regarding women.  This led to the birthing of Miqlat Ministry on August 30, 2004.

“Today more than ever, given the increasing poverty, violence, and injustices in the world, the church should be more willing to embrace, engage and continue with its task of being an agent for transformation and change,”

Asha Sanchu, Director, Miqlat Ministry, NBCC Women Department
